Australie : plans pour fouiller votre ipod?
http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/14229/Airport-iPod-checks-for-music-piracy.htm
How do you like the idea of being arrested at international customs and thrown behind bars, not for carrying explosives or drugs, but for your music collection on your iPod? Far-fetched as this may sound, it could soon become a reality if the latest measures being discussed by the Australia’s Federal Government are agreed upon.
According to news.com.au, a leaked discussion paper has shed light on a treaty currently being negotiated by the Federal Government, that would give customs officials unprecedented powers to search the laptops and MP3 players of international travelers – and they’ll face jail time if a large amount of pirated music is found. The office of Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has confirmed the government is currently engaged in negotiations, but has yet to sign Australia up or agree to any proposals.
The measure raises some pretty heavy questions; firstly, related to invasions of privacy, and whether the airports are really the place where consumer-level piracy infringements should be enforced. And secondly, exactly how would customs officials be able to determine which files on a music playing device were pirated, and which were legitimately copied from the traveler’s own music collection?
